How our content is made
TakeOver Mode does not employ human writers or editors to produce player and team pages. Instead, content is generated by a data pipeline: statistics are fetched from a historical statistical archive (season-by-season box score data), not a live real-time feed, validated, and used to fill deterministic templates — the same real numbers are always used to produce the same description, and nothing is invented or guessed when data is missing. No AI-written narrative is published on this site today: game previews and recaps, season and series summaries, and team, record and award write-ups are either deterministic text from the data or not shown. Any future AI-drafted section would work only from that same verified data, under the rules below.
What "verified data only" means here
If a statistic, record, or fact isn't present in our underlying data, we don't generate placeholder or estimated content for it — the relevant page or section is left out entirely rather than filled with a guess. This applies across the whole site: bios, standings, records, and daily features alike, including any future AI-drafted narrative section.
AI-assisted narrative
If generative AI is used in future (it is not used for published text today), it is constrained: each content type has a fixed contract defining exactly which verified data the model receives, the model is instructed never to introduce statistics or facts of its own, its output is validated against that same contract after generation, and links are inserted by deterministic code rather than written by the model. Pages containing AI-generated text carry a visible note linking to our AI Disclosure, which describes this in full. The AI step writes description, not opinion — no winner predictions and no speculation beyond the data.
